Welcome to the new you. Cape and all. For Python beginners and those with some Python skills. This is a 20 day course with 5 days on-site (classroom) and 15 off-site (from home).
This is an action-packed Python intensive that will take you from beginner to pro faster than the release of yet another Avengers sequel. This one week course easily costs over $5,000 at top-tier universities and you get it for a fraction of the cost. Let your inner Wonder Woman shine.
DAY 0 – PREP WORK
One week before the course you will be provided with prep work. The prep work will get you going on prerequisites and warmups, including how to use Github, install an editor, Python and required tools. We’ll provide support during this period so that when you start class on Day 1 you hit the ground running faster than Flash.
DAY 1 – CORE PYTHON
We’ll start to dig into Python and go through dozens of exercises to get you comfortable with coding Python and thinking like a coder. You’ll learn about functions, loops, conditional statements, libraries and more. You’ll go home with homework that you’ll need to deliver tomorrow. Thump your chest and Hulk up.
DAY 2 – CORE PYTHON – OOP & BLOCKCHAIN
On this day we’ll use our X-ray powers to look deep into object-oriented programming in Python, covering classes, objects and methods. We’ll use a bunch of exercises and culminate in writing a simple but useful blockchain in Python as a way to learn about the powers of Python, OOP and blockchain. And yes, more homework.
DAY 3 – WEB APPS
We’ll start building a web application using Python, Flask and the Bootstrap front-end framework and together we’ll put together a web app. By the end of the day you’ll have more web spun than Spider-man. Oh yeah – You’ll have homework.
DAY 4 – WEB APPS W/ DATABASES
Just like Superman in a tub of kryptonite, Web applications without an underlying database are useless. We’ll explore how to use databases like MySQL, MariaDB and MongoDB and then customize our web app to start using database and drive content.
DAY 5 – DATA SCIENCE
We’ll explore how Python is used in data science and start playing with datasets and doing some analytics on them using libraries like pandas, NumPy and scikit-learn, employing machine learning algorithms Iron Man would envy.
OFFSITE – DAY 6 THROUGH 20 – PUT IN WORK
Take the knowledge you’ve acquired over the past 5 intensive days and build a real-world web application and solution. You will be assigned a full blown real-world project to work on from home. It’ll all be due about 15 days after the last day of the course. You’ll have full email support up and until the deadline. After delivery of your project, you will receive detailed feedback on your work and have the chance to learn from your work and showcase your chops on Github with so much flamboyance Deadpool would look to replace Ryan Reynolds with you.
Glad you asked. Just check out these charts and search the job boards. Business schools are teaching it, employers like JPMorgan are expecting it to see it on resumes. Like Stan Lee says, nuff said.
